Trouble uploading photos/images

For the past few days, I have been unable to successfully upload a photo so it is published with the text in a new post.

Here’s what happens: As I’m writing a new post on my blog, I hit the image icon, upload a photo from my computer, indicate the size/placement, then hit “insert into post.” Then things go wrong. The entire box goes black/gray. When I click the x at the top of the box to get rid of it, the image appears to have been placed in the post. But when I hit “preview” or “publish,” it is not there. The text I wrote is, but the image is not.

WordPress.com has hosted my blog for over two years and I’ve never had a problem. I am hoping someone may have an answer/suggestion for this frustrating issue.

Try this. Open one of the posts you had problems with. Put the cursor where you want the image. Click on the “insert and image” button, then click on the “media library tab at the top of the window that opens. Find your image, click “show” make your settings and then click the “insert into post” button. See what happens.

Also, log out of wordpress, clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and then try again. It might be a cookie or cache issue as well.

I had a similar problem recently. After a process of elimination, the Happiness Engineers eventually diagnosed the problem: I had an outdated version of Safari (3.0). They suggested that I update my browser to Safari 5.0 and the problem was solved. I hope this helps!
