Trouble with adding ‘follow’ button on blog site
-
I’ve followed the directions on how to add a ‘follow’ button to my WordPress.com website, but it still says it’s having trouble recognizing my site as wordpress.com. Any help/suggestions is appreciated. Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
I can see the subscription widget on your site. Where exactly are you getting this error? Could you share a screenshot of it?

Yes, I didn’t mean the subscribe widget, but I have noticed that some bloggers I now follow have a simple “follow” WordPress link that would pop up at the bottom of the screen as I scrolled their site. I’ll see if I can get a snapshot of what it looks like through another blog. Thanks for your help.

Here’s an example of a website that has the “follow” link as you scroll up and down it should pop up at the bottom of the screen. This is what I was looking to add. https://candidmommyhood.com/

That button is exclusive to WordPress.com hosted sites. Your site is using the open-source WordPress.org software and it is hosted by Bluehost.

One alternative is to add a WordPress.com Follow Button from https://developer.wordpress.com/docs/follow-button-creation/
You can do this on any WordPress site running the Jetpack plugin with its JSON API module enabled.
Currently you are running the Jetpack plugin, but you’ll need to enable the JSON API module via the All Modules view: https://jetpack.com/support/control-jetpacks-modules-on-one-page/
Design-wise, it won’t exactly be the Follow button you want, but functionality-wise, it will. :)
