trouble with comments

people are having trouble leaving comments (even people who have previously left comments).
why are they unable to leave/post comments???***also, when people DO leave comments, sometimes i get email notification, sometimes not. how can i fix this? (it’s been a problem for months now).

Hi Michelle – are these users in the UK? This might be due to a problem currently happening with certain Internet Service Providers: See here.
If that’s not it, can you please provide a bit more detail about what exactly happens when they try to leave comments? Do they receive any sort of error message, and if so, what is the exact error?
For the missing notifications, can you double-check that they are not in your spam/junk folder? If not, can you link me to some specific comments you did not get notifications for?

one user was in the UK.
but the most recent one was here in the US, this morning. she got a pop-up window that said, “sorry, this comment could not be posted.” this is an individual who has commented several times up till this point.as for missing notifications, i’ve checked my spam/junk folder…nothing there. i’m not sure how to link you to specific comments for which i did not receive notifications.
two are stefanierenee ( [redacted] does this number mean anything?? ) and songbird studio (redacted).thanks for trying to help!

Hi Michelle – wanted to update you that the comment notification emails you did not receive were because Comcast had filtered WordPress.com emails. We’ve been in touch with them, and this should be resolved now.
I’m still checking about the error your commenter saw.

Hi Michelle – could you please reply with the email address(es) that the commenters who saw that error message were using to comment?
It would also be very helpful if we knew exactly how they were commenting – for example, from your blog itself, from the Reader, from the mobile app?
Finally, if you could ask for a screenshot of their screen with the error message, that would be fantastic. I know some people are more comfortable with making screenshots than others. You could send along these instructions and ask that they email you the screenshot: http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/
Then, you could upload it to your Media Library and I could look at it there. Thanks! :)
