Trouble with gallery caption causing shadow box…

Hi all, very new to WordPress and CSS here! I have started tinkering with my new blog and have found that when I create a gallery where the photos have a caption I get a nasty box shadow across the image?
Can anyone help with a fix for this? I searched but only found older answers that didn’t help me.
