Trouble With Google Indexing

  I’ve been blogging at WordPress for more than ten years. My blog is “The Sensuous Curmudgeon.” It’s about science — mostly the evolution vs. creationism controversy. The url is: https://sensuouscurmudgeon.wordpress.com/

  The problem I’m having is that for the past week, during which I’ve posted eleven times, Google hasn’t indexed any of those posts. Google is sometimes a bit slow with their indexing, but nothing like this has ever happened before.

  Is anyone else having this problem, or does anyone know anything that might be causing it?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Google doesn’t index the web in real-time, and I don’t see anything on your site that would block.

  I recommend verifying your site in Google’s Search Console so you can track their progress: https://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/#google-search-console

  Thanks for that. I’m already verified there. And a couple of days ago I submitted another sitemap. It hasn’t made any difference. I assume WordPress is pinging them whenever I post a new blog, so I don’t know what else there is to do.

  Keep an eye on your Coverage and Error reports in Google’s Search Console.

  That stuff doesn’t tell me anything. And there’s certainly no explanation for refusing to index new posts.

  Please try contacting Google directly about this. On our end there is nothing preventing those posts from being indexed, we do ping Google every time you publish a new post, and those new posts are visible in your site’s sitemap at https://sensuouscurmudgeon.wordpress.com/sitemap.xml.

  So whatever is going on here is happening (or not happening) on Google’s end.

  I went to Google’s Search Console, told them about the problem,, and requested to know what could be done about it. If I hear back from them I’ll let you know.

  After 2 days with no response from Google, I sent them another inquiry yesterday. They still haven’t responded, but they’ve started to catch up on all the un-indexed posts. They indexed one on Nov 28th, 2 on the 29th, and (so far) 9 today on the 30th. There are only 3 left to be indexed, none older than Nov 27, so they’re almost all caught up — but with no explanation about what caused the delay.
