Trouble with HTML

  When I try to use various HTML codes via the Custom HTML widget in posts, it doesn’t show up in the post preview, or when I post it. Does this have to do with my theme? (I am currently running the Plane theme on the site I need help with.)

  The html-codes you can use on the Free Plan are very limited, https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/custom-html-widget/
