Trouble With My Stats Site
-
My site stats are not working. I had my blog connected to Facebook and the site stats are stopped showing up even though my blog had been viewed on Facebook. I tried to disconnect it and reconnect it again by following the directions here on wordpress and it still is not showing anything. What should I do?
Thanks!

When you say your stats aren’t working, do you mean you can’t see any of them, or you don’t believe certain stats aren’t being updated?
Keep in mind that the stats are not updated in real time, and there is a delay from when someone visits a blog or follows it, and when that information will appear in the Stats.
If the issue is that your stats aren’t being updated, please keep an eye on this over the next few days and after you’ve published another post (and be sure that post gets sent to Facebook or wherever else you would normally post it). You might also consider using fewer than 15 categories + tags so your post appears in the Reader (over 15 will keep it from showing up).

Hi Jackie,
My stats on Facebook had been working for awhile but then when
I had posted a blog to Facebook last Monday and it didn’t seem to be recording of the views at all from there. I asked some people I knew if they had viewed it on Facebook and they said yes. My stats only showed that there had only been one view and it didn’t exactly say what source the view was from. Today I posted a blog as well on Facebook and one person had read it and it still hasn’t acknowledged it. I have tried to make sure that my blog is connected to Facebook and it says that it is shared and posts to Facebook when I publish it. So I am not sure if I have missed a step or not. Thanks for your help!

Also one other thing when I post it on Facebook it doesn’t show up on I-phone or I-pad devices. I repost it on Facebook by copying the link for it to show up on those devices. Does this makes sense to you?
Thanks!Shelly

Keep in mind that a reader will need to click on the link from Facebook and visit your site for it to count.
If the post has made it to Facebook and is visible in a desktop view of Facebook, it will also be visible to people viewing Facebook on a mobile device, at least in theory.
Facebook has been toying with their algorithm for what to display to people, and it’s entirely possible that although the story has been posted to your wall or page, some of your friends or followers will not see it. That’s entirely Facebook’s doing, as they decide what to show each person who logs in. I’ve even noticed that what I see on my Facebook feed on my laptop isn’t always the same as what I see in my feed on a mobile device.
When you repost your content a second time, it may be ranked differently by Facebook’s algorithm and therefore gets shown to a different subset of your followers, but this is just guesswork on my part, as no one really knows for sure how they choose to display content.
What I’d recommend is that you keep an eye on this for the next week or so, and when you publish a new post, verify that it has indeed gone out on Facebook, and see if your stats improve.
