Trouble with my work account

    Hi WordPress! I need help!! We started using Wix for my work site, and now I cannot login to my paid wordpress account. The account is for Vogue Homes and was voguehomes/wp now it is voguehomes.com. I need to access my old information. We have even tried resetting the password and it said invalid email ((email visible only to moderators and staff)). Please help!!! Cheers- Sarah Lee

    Hi Sarah,

    What is the URL of the WordPress.com site you’re having issues with? It can’t be the one you posted from as you’re clearly managing to log into that one just fine and it was only created a few days ago.

    If it was definitely a site hosted here then you should be able to follow these steps to recover your account details, you’ll need to know the email with which you signed up though.

    There’s also a form you can fill in and provide your receipt details in order to unlock your account if you can’t remember the email address.

    If your site wasn’t hosted here at WordPress.com then it’s possible you had a separate host and an installation of WordPress.org which is a bit different. If that’s the case you’re better off getting in touch with your old hosting provider for help.

    The website was voguehomes.com/wp
    Now it is voguehomes.com
    I had to create a new account just to be able to ask for help. I went through the recover your account page and it wont allow me to complete the form because it doesn’t recognize the email- (email visible only to moderators and staff)
    I tried wordpress.org and same thing. We cannot locate our receipt details as this was at least 6 years ago. Can you help?

    I’m afraid not. It sounds a lot like your site was hosted by a third party hosting provider and that you were using an installation of WordPress.org so it is unlikely that the staff here will be able to do much to help. I’m going to tag the thread so a member of staff can take a look just in case anyway. Sorry I can’t be of more use.

    I’m sorry, but voguehomes.com is not hosted at WordPress.com. As such, we are unable to provide any direct assistance in this manner.

    The fact that the site may have been built using WordPress, or may mention ‘Powered by WordPress’ (or something similar) simply means it is using the WordPress.org software, which can be downloaded and installed on any web host.

    I would recommend getting in touch with your domain registrar Network Solutions for support, or checking out these resources if your site was indeed built with WordPress software:

    Hi Darnell. I have contacted GoDaddy and Network Solutions and they both tell me WordPress should have the info. I cannot even login to my account. Is there someway I can get back into my account again? Really hoping to find anything at this point. I appreciate your help.

    So is this site hosted with Wix? I ask because I ran into this. If so, you’ll need to contact their support team to regain access to your site.
