Trouble with PayPal Buttons
-
Hello, I have read the available support here including the instructions on how to add pp buttons to my blog. Unfortunately the most important step is not an option — after creating button, there isn’t an option to grab the email link, only the website code.
I have a fair amount of experience with wordpress and creating/inserting buttons on other websites, so I’m not sure what I could be doing wrong. Any assistance is greatly appreciated – thank you!

Hi,
I just called paypal about this issue. What we figured out is that if you have different options on your button (i.e., a drop-down menu) you will NOT get an e-mail tab. If you just do a simple button, you should be able to get the e-mail tab so that you can grab the link code.
However, this isn’t helpful to me because I need the button with the drop-down…but at least I know why I was getting the e-mail tab sometimes and not others.

This support document explains the only paypal option here, and the one thing people need to know is that there are severe limits on what you can “sell” or advertise on a blog at wordpress.COM.
Advertising/selling things is, except for a couple very narrow exceptions, not allowed on wordpress.COM. For the exceptions, see the last sentence under “Affiliate marketing blogs” in the bottom set of bullet points in the “types of blogs” link below.
