Trouble with Purchased Theme
-
Hello all. First time posting here (that I can remember!). I’m a little confused and hoping to get some guidance on this.
A while back – early 2015 maybe – I purchased the Portfolio theme from The Theme Foundry for $79. As things often go sometimes, a lot of stuff kept coming up in my life that prevented me from getting around to actually building my site using the theme. I worked on it a little bit from time to time but I was consistently overwhelmed with how many “moving parts” where involved, so I kept stopping and putting the whole project on the back burner. It just wasn’t as simple as I’d expected it to be and I procrastinated a lot.
Fast forward to today when I was very excited to have FINALLY carved out time to actually get this thing done – come hell or high water – only to find that the theme don’t seem to be working as it had been before. I did some digging which led me here. It looks like the theme is now defunct?? I don’t understand this. I purchased a product. How can it just not be of use anymore? I mean, $79 is no small chunk of change for me. And since I never finished the project I have essentially paid for nothing.
If it’s the case that the theme is no good shouldn’t I be entitled to a refund? Anyone else dealt with this?

Hi there! The theme is still up for use (and I see it on your site), so no worries there!
To get your site looking more like the demo, see this page with setup information for all of the various pieces: https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/portfolio/support/.
When setting up the Portfolio items, start from your wp-admin dash (https://kpsbeautifulthings.wordpress.com/wp-admin/), then go to Posts > Add New and you’ll see the checkbox for the Portfolio Item mentioned in the directions (here).
Feel free to pop back in with questions as you work through the setup guide!
