Trouble with Spun Theme posting photos twice in a post

    Help with photos, please!

I want to have a simple photo album, mainly with only one photo per post, sometimes with a description but many times with no description.

    My site is:
    http://naturephotoz.wordpress.com

The problem is that when I go to my site and click on any of the circle mosaics to view a newly added photo, the post/page opens up and shows the photo TWICE on the post/page…once above the title of the post and once below the title.

I have been making new posts by going into “Add New” post, then I upload a new photo through the “Add Media” button, I hit “upload files” and choose a photo on my computer desktop, I choose “full size” then I hit “Insert into post”. I then see only one string of code in the ‘text’ option on the post page or I see the one photo in the ‘visual’ option. I then hit ‘publish’.

This theme did not post the photos twice on one post/page when I first started this blog (just a couple days ago), but now it does it all the time.

I’ve searched the forums for answers, I’ve tried re-sizing the photos…nothing I have read or tried has worked.

I do not know code and am technology-challenged, so the more simple the answers the better.

    Many thanks.

    Hi there,

I took a look at your blog, and those posts are using the image post format. When posts in the Spun theme have the image post format, a featured image is shown above the post title and anything you enter into the post editor (text or photos) is shown below the post title. You can see examples of posts with this format on the Spun demo site here: http://spundemo.wordpress.com/type/image/

There are a couple ways you can change your posts so the photo only appears once:

    1. You can change your posts to a Standard post format. That way, the photo will only appear below the post title.

You can change the post format for multiple posts at once by using the Bulk Edit feature. To do that, go to Posts > All Posts in your dashboard and select the posts you want to change using the checkboxes on the left. Then select Edit from the Bulk Actions drop-down menu and click the Apply button. You will see options that can be applied to all of the selected posts.

In the Format drop-down menu, select Standard to switch your posts from Image to Standard post formats. Then, click Update to save that change.

    2. You can leave the posts in the Image format but remove the image from the post editor. That way, the photo will only appear above the post title.

To do that, you can edit each post and add the image as a Featured Image on that post. Then, you can remove the image from the body of the post in the post editor. Click Update to save the changes on that post and repeat it for each post you want to change.

Please let me know if I can provide any further help with this. :)
