Trouble with Top Posts widget

  When I put the Top Posts widget in my sidebar, the next thing in the sidebar goes all the way to the bottom of the blog, no matter how long the blog is. I have 2 posts displayed, so the next widget is below that 2nd post. I tried reordering my widgets to try to troubeshoot the problem. And it is definitely the Top Posts widget that is causing the next one to go to the end of th blog. I can put the Top Posts widget in position 1 and the widget in position 2 starts at the end of the blog. Any advice?
