Trouble with transferring hosting to GoDaddy

    I have been attempting to transfer my hosting from WordPress to GoDaddy and I am wondering if I have done something wrong. Here is what I have setup:

    Domains registered with namesco.uk, hosting with WordPress

    I followed the instructions given on WP – I exported the XML file first, purchased hosting services with GoDaddy, changed the Nameservers on Namesco, after the change was made, attempted to import the XML file (where WP says it wants a WXR file that ISN’T mentioned in the ‘Moving a Blog’ post – it’s quite frustrating to have the instructions say one thing and the reality be another) it didn’t work the first time saying that the file was empty. The XML generated by WP was also 26 MB, which is well above the 8MB that it says it can take. I tried again where the maximum had changed to15MB but then it says that it accepted the file, it gave me the option to download attachments which I picked and I got a message saying I would be e-mailed when that was finished.

    It’s been over 12 hours since I did that and the site hasn’t changed – I have the place holder theme and Hello World post which I edited but no indication that the importing worked at all. Is it just going to take longer or have I done something wrong? If so, can I fix it? Thanks in advance

    Could you post your old and new blog URLs?
    To clarify, you are moving from:

    WordPress.com blog with a domain mapping upgrade (with domain registered with namesco.uk)

    to:

    Self-installed WordPress.org blog hosted on GoDaddy

    Is this correct?
    You can create multiple export files by selecting partial contents (month/category/author etc.) when you export.

    Yes, that is correct.

    The URL for the site is http://arcadeheroes.com and http://arcadeheaven.wordpress.com, same URL for old and new.

    I will try breaking the XML file up and seeing where I get with that
