Troubleshoot rss feed widget "Unknown Feed: An error has occurred…"

  After following instructions given in description and demo of how to install the RSS feed widget, for visitors to receive automatic content updates, the following error message appeared in my Sidebar: “Unknown Feed: An error has occurred…” How do I resolve this problem? Many thanks for any support that takes me from A to B successfully. Ü
