Truly Minimal: large space between header & first blog item

Whaddya think, Rich …? – it looks unbalanced to me.
But I can’t for the life of me work out how to reduce that space …
OTY, m’dear, when you have time.
And yes, I’m doing my best to cover the entire spectrum. By the time I’ve finally settled, you’re going to know more off the top of your head than anyone else ! See how kind I am to you …? ;-)The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
And also the matter of the divisions between widgets being NOT full-width …? – so that there’s a gap after the vertical division …?

Howdy, the header area has 4.5em of bottom margin. Add the following and adjust as desired.
.site-header { margin-bottom: 4.5em; }The secondary div stops at the bottom of the last widget in the sidebar. You can remove the border from #secondary and instead add it to .site-content, but a couple other adjustments have to be made (right margin, and some padding added on right). Try the following and see what you think. I’ve used the media query to take the right border away when the sidebar moves down below the content at 955px in width.
.site-content { border-right: thin dotted #000000; margin: 0 29.8% 0 0; padding-right: 25px; } @media screen and (max-width: 955px) { .site-content { border-right: none; } } -

Sorry to have you ask for yet more of your time; but I believe I’ve done all that, and nozzink looks different from how it did before.
I did delete something (and now I don’t remember what it was, of course) before inserting your first bits of code, so it shouldn’t be that there’s any kind of doubling up … and anyway, yours would be hero as it’s the latest, yes …?
The sub-menus are now PERFECT !! I can scarcely believe the way the dotted lines … erhmmm … lines up. :-) -
Perhaps I misunderstood. I was thinking you wanted the vertical line to go the full height of the page instead of ending at the end of the last widget.
Are you by chance talking about the horizontal lines between posts not going full width?
-
I am being my normally elliptical, prolly, Rich … sorry, mate. And I hadn’t even noticed that ! – but I like it !! :-) So we’ll leave it.
No; what remains is my wish to have the horizontal lines between widgets NOT start right from the vertical line, but from roughly the same distance from it as end all the lines between entries.
Scheissen. Can you grasp that ? My tongue is tied in knots … :- -
Ah, now I understand. Remove what I had given you and add the following:
.widget { margin-left: 30px; padding-left: 0; } -
In addition to removing what you first provided (when confused by my terminology), I had to replace what I’d originally put there myself.
No idea what it was – not a clue. Had to discover it all over again. :-)
Serves me right. Yesyes, I know I should simply have gone to the CSS records: but I reckon I learn better with repetition. You (and I) wish …
Thank-you, you totally excellent bloke !!! :-D -

I have a truly deep need and wish to understand something that’s going down in your world.
If there is any point in asking it of you, you might be kind enough to contact me by email.
And if you do not, I will accept without one second’s pause that this is something into which you have no wish to be drawn. -
Hi margaretrosestringer! thesacredpath is out this week on holiday. I’ll forward your note though.
Cheers :)

The swine ! – imagine going on holidays without checking with me first to see if I could manage during his absence !! [grin]
Thanks, Cheri … but don’t bother – it’s far from important and can wait indefinitely.
Obrigado … -
