Truly Minimalist Theme – Menu issues

Truly minimal theme – only some of the links light up in my sub-menu… why is this? The links in the sub-menu are to category pages.
I tried re-doing the categories that weren’t lighting up, and I even re-did the entire menu. The same three links in the menu do not light up.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No dynamic category page has any data that it can display at all until you actually assign the category to a post and publish the post. The same can be said of the categories widgets and the same applies to tags and tags widgets too.

Hi timethief, thanks for responding. I’m not sure I articulated my question properly.
I know that no posts will show up (I haven’t made any). My issue is that the menu itself is supposed to light up blue on mouse-over, and only some of the items do.
So for example, under the “recipes” page, my appetizers, desserts, and fish/seafood links within the sub-menu don’t light up blue, but everything else in the menu does. I am not sure why or how to fix this.

I am using Firefox 25 and I get the turquoise color active links when I hover on all of those links – every one of them both categories and sub-categories.
