Truncating posts on homepage?
-
Is there a way I can truncate the size of my posts on the main page so that users can read the first paragraph or two and then “jump” to the rest of the post on its own page rather than the main page? I’m using the andreas09 theme at http://www.josephgoddard.com
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Use the “more” tag in your posts: http://support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/ . Pay particular attention to the warnings on formatting issues at the bottom of the page. Also, make sure that when you insert a more tag that it is inserted as if it were its own paragraph. Do not put it right at the end of a paragraph.

You want Icon #12: http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/15/what-do-all-the-icons-mean/
Be warned that it’ll reduce the number of people who read your whole post, though it does bump your hits up for technical reasons. A lot of people find one more click to be a barrier.
