Try out a different theme?

  Is there a way to try out a different theme without actually publishing it til I’m sure I want to go ahead with it?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Yes, but not on a site which has its privacy setting on public. You’d have to create another site and set it to private, in order to try out different themes without the site being publicly visible.

  You could make the present site private temporarily, but this would likely have negative consequences with regard to traffic, Page Rank, etc.
