trying to add a webmap using ‘custom html’. NOT working
-
I’m trying to add a web map using ‘custom html’. It’s visible in the preview mode on ‘custom html’ but not visible when I view my website.
Any suggestions on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi there,
What site do you need help with, and what exactly are you trying to add?
We have code restrictions on WordPress.com, so if you’re trying to embed an interactive map using
scriptoriframecode, that won’t work, as those types of code get stripped out automatically:The only map embed options on WordPress.com are for Google Maps, or Mapbox maps via the map block.

I’m trying to add a web map I’ve created in arcgis online (GIS software). Arcgis provide the html link to embed it into websites but like I said it’s not working.
This makes sense If wordpress only allow you to embed google maps or mapbox.
Is there any other was I could embed this into my site? I read there is a plugin capable of doing this but I don’t want to upgrade my account to ‘business’ at this stage.
Many thanks

I guess I could transfer my site from .com to .org.
Would you suggest anything else?
Many thanks

Hi there,
If you want to embed that map you created on your WordPress.com site, you’ll need to upgrade to the Business plan. Your other option as you suggested is to host your site elsewhere using the WordPress.org software.
