Trying to add audio storage to website

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi folks; I’m trying to renew my 10 gig storage on a WP.Com website but it only seems to allow me access to the premium plans. Can I still purchase 10 gigs of audio storage? Thanks, Len.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard and purchase an upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/space-upgrade/

Thanks timethief, but I was logged in as the administrator.

It doesn’t allow me to purchase the 10 gig upgrade–it only takes me to the premium options.

    Thanks, Len.

    Hi there,

You can view all of our upgrades in the WordPress.com Store here: http://store.wordpress.com/

The WordPress.com Premium plan includes the space upgrade and a number of other neat upgrades all in one, but if you’d like just the space upgrade you can get that here: http://store.wordpress.com/premium-upgrades/extra-storage/

Please let me know if I can provide any further help with this. :)

I tried and it still directs me to the upgrade my wordpress to Premium or Business page. :(

Hi wildworks80, that’s odd. Can you make a screenshot of what you see on the screen when you try to buy the space upgrade?

You can upload screenshots to your Media Library under Media > Add New in your dashboard, or you can use an online service like Snaggy. I’ll take a look and check with our team to see what’s going on.

Hi Rachelmcr: The same thing happens to me. I see the page you are referring to but it asks for the site I’m trying to apply the upgrade to and when I click on the site, I get the premium page.

All I need is the 10 gig plan-nothing more. I have two sites I need to apply this to.

    Thanks, Len.

Hi lensipes, I just checked your account again, and it looks like you had the WordPress.com Premium plan in your Shopping Cart — that would explain why it kept showing up. I just removed it from your Shopping Cart for you. You should now be able to go to the Store page in your dashboard and purchase the Space Upgrade you want.

If you run into any further trouble with that, please let me know!

Hi Rachelmcr: Thanks but no–all I continue to get is the premium package.

The audio I’m trying to get an upgrade for is http://hobertwright.wordpress.com/holbert-wright-audio-interview/.

The only option currently available is to download the interview I did with him. The player button no longer appears. This is a 90 year-old veteran of the battle of Iwo Jima. People would like to hear the interview.

The WP policy states that it would not change the presentation or the audio if the upgrade expired.

Can you assist with the return of the player button for this site so people do not have to download? He and his family would appreciate it.

    Thanks, Len.

    Hi Len,

When a space upgrade expires, that doesn’t affect the media you already uploaded before it expired. It sounds like you’re experiencing a glitch with the audio player itself, so let’s take a look at that. :)

You can make that audio player appear with shortcode like this:

    [audio http://en.support.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/mattmullenweg-interview.m4a]

You can replace the link in that shortcode with the link to your audio file, and then paste it into the page editor for that page. That will make the audio player appear on the page instead of a link to download the file.

We have more information about how that works here: Audio

Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

If you’d still like to purchase the space upgrade again (so you can upload new audio files), please let me know. In that case, it would help if you could make a screenshot of what you see on the screen while you’re trying to buy that upgrade. You can upload screenshots to your Media Library under Media > Add New in your dashboard, or you can use an online service like Snaggy.
