Trying to add email forwarding from my domain

Hi – I’m trying to add email forwarding from my new domain name. The help function leads me to ‘upgrades’ and suggests that I’ll find a link for ’email’ on the upgrades page but there isn’t an email option on the upgrades page. When I click directly on the work ’emails’ I get linked to a page (https://wordpress.com/email/%5Bmydomain%5D.com) but that page is just a blank white page within the dashboard window. How do I create an email address with my domain and set up email forwarding?

    Jetpack: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

  • Hi there,

We can’t help directly because we don’t host askagiant.com on our WordPress.com managed hosting. As a result, we can’t take a closer look at your site.

Instead your host uses the open-source variant of the WordPress platform (sometimes called “WordPress.org”) which functions differently than what we offer here on WordPress.com. To clarify, the email forwarding feature only works on sites that are hosted directly on WordPress.com. Bluehost does not offer a similar feature that I know of.

The good news is that you can create your WordPress site here on WordPress.com if you wish (it is possible to connect your askagiant.com domain so you have a custom site address) and then you would be able to set up email forwarding using our built in tools.

You can get started by creating a site under your WordPress.com account here:

    https://wordpress.com/start/

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
