Trying to add google adsense to a text widget – No luck!

    Hi guys,

    I’ve been following directions on adding adverts from Google AdSense to my WordPress site by pasting the codes that are generated when you make an ad in Google AdSense straight into text widgets on my sidebar.

    For example, here’s an ad code:

    </script>

    But pasting these straight into a text widget doesn’t seem to work – the ads aren’t displaying. I’ve tried making my sidebars larger so there’s more space, but still no luck.

    Does anyone know what I’m doing wrong, please?

    Hi, third party advertising isn’t allowed on WordPress.com sites:

    But my site is hosted on HostGator, not WordPress?

    I thought it was only sites hosted by WordPress that were problematic in that regard?

    To add – Just read the advertising article and it specifies that:

    ‘You can run any ads you’d like if you manage your own WordPress installation. More info, including hosting recommendations, can be found at get.wp.com.’

    Mine’s hosted externally from WordPress, so Google AdSense should work fine, yes?

    The site you are asking about does not seem to be hosted on WordPress.COM so you need to make friends over at WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using.
