Harry, here is the support document on how to verify your site with the three major search engines.
-
thank you but i have already got those sorted , where do i put the link above and which link do i use
-
I’m unfamiliar with Alexa and I don’t know where you would put that. We do not have access to the underlying theme files, nor can we upload to the “root” directory.
With Technorati, you used to be able to put the code, in this case, GQmQK7DITEjJy0X_-RYh9VtHB_k , into a post or a page and then verify the site. You would actually put that code as the title of the post or page. I have no idea if that will work with Alexa or not.

i tried it in the about page but the site could not see it , i might go and ask them what to do and i’ll let you know
it was someone here in a post so i’m going to try and find it and ask them as well

Hi Harry,
The page you need is rucked away under “Tools” click the “tools” link in the left hand sidebar column in your Admin section. Then when you scroll down youwill see where you can post the verification codes. It looks like this.Webmaster Tools Verification (?)
Enter your meta key “content” value to verify your blog with Google Webmaster Tools, Yahoo! Site Explorer, and Bing Webmaster Center
Google Webmaster Tools
Example: <meta name=’google-site-verification’ content=’dBw5CvburAxi537Rp9qi5uG2174Vb6JwHwIRwPSLIK8′>
Yahoo! Site Explorer
Example: <meta name=’y_key’ content=’3236dee82aabe064′>
Bing Webmaster Center -
@ TT , i have goggle, yahoo and bing meta links all in place and theres no-where else for alexa’s meta tag
-
Please do not bother with Alexa. Confirming your blog is not necessary: they can figure your hits anyway. And Alexa’s data is really NOT up to date. It is dying. Use Quantcast if you want demographics for your blog, and you don’t need to register there either.
-
@ raincoaster , thank you will try that , as you say , i was in their forum and there were a lot of posts about the data etc not working
-
Use Quantcast if you want demographics for your blog, and you don’t need to register there either.
Ummm … For the record I did NOT request this > “Traffic data has been hidden by the owner. ” In fact I have requested by email that both sites be quantified and the data displayed.
See here> http://www.quantcast.com/thistimethisspace.com

@harrythehandyman
Neither Alexa nor Quantcast are search engines per say and that’s why there is no place to put any code for them on the page I pointed to above. -
