trying to add pinterest button
-
warning – I am very new to all this and don’t understand most of the terminology and still learning how to do basic posts …but… am now trying to add a pinterest button link to my blog and a couple of widgets to my side bar…
I have the HTML code from pinterest but having trouble figuring out where to drop it… tried doing it via widget text thingy, also tried adding a couple of other widgets like blog stats here, I move it to the right, click save but nothing appearing on site… any suggestions to how to do this or what I’m doing wrong would be most appreciated :-)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There’s no pinterest code that works here as far as I’m aware. Lots of people have requested it, but all pinterest supplies is code that is insecure, and is stripped out. I’m afraid at the moment there is no solution.

At the moment it appears that adding a Pinterest sharing button can’t be done. Please see this earlier reply by Staff and the reason:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/pinterest-pin-it-button?replies=37#post-773066You can put the code for the Pinterest follow button in a text widget.
1. Go to this site, choose which one of the red Follow Me images you want, and copy the code for it. http://pinterest.com/about/goodies/
2. Then, go to your widgets > Appearance > Widgets and select a text widget.http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/
3. Paste the Pinterest follow button code into the text widget, “save” the widget, “close” the widget and place it where you want it to display in your sidebar.
