Trying to build a new site/ blog…

    I’m trying to set up a completely new account. Had several difficulties but now it says my chosen name is already taken (which it isn’t). Any ideas? Do I just have to wait until it forgets about the name I tried to use and then try again? Thanks.

    Hi there,

    If the system is telling you that the name you want is taken chances are it’s really taken.

    (which it isn’t).

    this may be because you are probably searching for a site with the same name on the web and nothing pops up, am I correct?
    If I am, the reason is that the name could have been used at some point and then the site owner decided to delete the name URL and WordPress.com does not allow for the URL to be reused.

    If none of this is true to your case, please let us know (on this thread) what name you are trying to use and someone will assist you sufficiently.
