Trying to build a replacement web site

  I’m trying to build a replacement web site for Westford Friends of East Boston Camps. We already have a site, but it’s all html and we want a higher level capability; WordPress seems perfect. However, I can’t provide a domain name until I have a site built and ready to switch to. Can’t get past the page that wants a domain name, including a transfer of existing name. I don’t want a new url; I just can’t switch now. How do I proceed?

  Hi there, when you sign up for WordPressdotcom, you have the option of creating a new, free website with a either a dotwordpressdotcom or dotsomethingdotblog subdomain. Keep selecting the free address option during the setup process. It might not be the first option available or visible, but it should be there.
