Trying to build a test site before moving my domain

    Is there a way to do this? I am finding that other providers don’t offer the customization I need, so I just want to play with the builder first.

    You can try our platform by using a free .wordpress.com or .blog subdomain address. If you find that you like it, you can transfer your domain at a later time.

    Where can I set up a free development domain? I don’t see a way to do that.

    If you want it to be free, just skip all paid options including a paid domain. Choose a free .wordpress.com in setup.

    Just note the free site’s features are limited. You wouldn’t be able to add plugins and what not. So if you need upgrades for developing, go ahead and get the plan for now, then just avoid using the domain options until you’re ready.
