Trying to cancel domain & delete site

I am trying to permanently delete my blog. I canceled the domain per the steps on the “cancel domain” page, but never received a confirmation email to authorize it. When I try to “delete site” from dashboard, it says:
Warning! You cannot delete a site if it has a domain registration upgrade because you need access to the site in order to get to the domain manager.
But I’ve already canceled (or, at least tried to cancel) my domain registration upgrade.

Hi there. I think if it’s more than two days since you registered the domain staff need to cancel it for you. I’ll tag this thread for them to follow up. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and be patient while waiting.

I can cancel your domain joseyfritz.com for you, if you’d like. Please keep in mind that canceling a domain means you give up ownership of that domain name. The domain name may not be released immediately, and there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to register it again in the future.
If you’d like to keep the domain and use it somewhere else, you can transfer it instead: Transfer a Domain to Another Registrar
If you’re sure you no longer want the domain joseyfritz.com, please let me know and I’ll cancel it for you.
