Trying to change 404 page to a blog page.

Web designer created a page for me called Join In. When you arrive at the page, you see 404 page. I want to create a blog page about Thailand, but not sure how to get the 404 message off the page. I already changed the permalink. Do I have to go into FTP? How do I clear out the 404 elements and create a page in my nav bar that says Thailand and then create a page for blogs?

I hope you understand what I mean lol.

    Thanks!
    Joanna

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What is the exact URL of the site you refer to?
And exactly where is it hosted?
Is it https://joruckenstein.wordpress.com/ or any other wordpress.COM hosted blog?

    re: fornt page error message

Nothing Found. Apologies, but no results were found. Perhaps searching will help find a related post.

There is nothing wrong with your site. By default the front page of the blog is the only page that will display all published posts on it. As soon as you publish a post not a page the front page error message and searchbox that appears on every new WordPress.COM blog will be gone. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/

I recommend using the step by step tutorial linked to the bottom of your Admin page https://learn.wordpress.com

See also the “Video Quick Start” tutorial http://en.support.wordpress.com/video-quick-start/

The support documentation is all found at the Support link http://en.support.wordpress.com which is also linked to on the bottom of your Admin page.

Permalink structure cannot be changed on any WordPress.COM hosted blog. And there is no FTP access for bloggers to blogs hosted by WordPress.COM.

If you are not referring to a wordpress.COM hosted blog then you are posting to the wrong support forum.

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG and need support for that site in the future and if you do not have a WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.

    Register an account https://wordpress.org/support/register.php
    Resetting your WordPress.ORG password http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password
WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page
