Trying to change address name

So I created my address not realizing it was misspelled. This was last week. I created a new one, with correct spelling, only to figure how to actually change/correct the first one, so I deleted the second address with correct spelling. It has been a few days and every time I try and correct/change the misspelled address to the correct one (the one I deleted), it says the new one is already in use. its not in use. I had it, deleted it, and there is no way someone snatched it up moments later. I need this fixed. help!

When you deleted it, you saw the warnings that deletion was permanent and irreversible. There were three warnings and an email confirmation. Deletion is indeed permanent and irreversible. That name will never come available again.
I suggest you choose a different name and/or buy a custom domain and mapping to get whateveryouwant.com.

it doesn’t actually say this specific domain name can never be used by anybody on the planet ever again. Not even close. Not very happy with wordpress.

You cannot recover or register any deleted blog URL. Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.

Lastly, a verification link is sent in an email and it must be clicked to delete a blog. If clicking that link does not work then copy and paste it into your upper browser window and click. Once the verification link for deletion is clicked the blog URL is forever gone, gone, gone.

Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.

If so then you can change the URL by using this guide
