trying to change category from default

  Hi there,

  As the instructions show on the page you linked, you will need to click Settings → Writing → Categories in order to set the default category. If you have multiple sites and need to choose a different site, you can click My Site → Switch sites → select the desired site, and then follow the instructions on the link above.
