trying to change display name

    i have tried everything by the book to change my display name from the user name to nickname with pull down menu etc. i even switched from safari to firefox with no luck. it has nothing to do with symbols [/ or •] for instance because i tried it without and nothing.

    any help would be appreciated because as a starter you don’t want to face insurmountable problems right at the very beginning.

    When you say you’ve tried everything, please trust us…you need to give us all those tedious details. It’s the only way.

    My suggestions, until we get them: Do the cookie dance: log out, clear browser cache and cookies, restart computer, try again.
    Try this way: on the Profile page, under Nickname, place your desired nickname. If it is already in the drop-down menu, select it. If it is not, put it in the box and proceed to the next step. Then hit Save or Update or whatever it says now, down at the bottom of the page. If this was your first time inputting the nickname, you will have to go to the drop down menu and select it again and then hit Save or Update or whatever it is. It’s a two-step process now.

    If that doesn’t work, and that is standard procedure, contact staff. There may be something wrong with the internal workings of your Profile page.
