Trying to change main banner image but it won't do it

    Hi, I’ve uploaded an image I want as my main banner and it won’t show on the preview. It just stays the same as the holding image. I haven’t published the site yet but I wanted to get everything in place before it went live. Any help would be apprecaited

    Thanks for reporting your problem.

    I see that you are using this theme https://wordpress.com/themes/gateway/

    I installed same on my blog and uploaded new header image through Customize section of my blog. It showed in preview perfectly fine. It also appeared fine after clicking on “Save & Publish”. So not sure what the issue is.

    Since this is specific to theme and not WordPress, probably you shall post it here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/themes#postform so that someone from the team can get back quickly.

    I’m sorry but I’m getting the same issue on ALL of my themes. This isn’t a specific theme issue. No matter what theme I view or update, it does not change the main header banner and it is consistently showing the same image. Are they working on the servers or something?

    @eldconsultancy – May I know what did you do? Did you change the theme?

    @katbrat73 – It could possibly a cache issue too. So please try hard reload 2-3 times or else append some query parameter at the end of URL. For example, if your site URL is http://example.com then hit the URL with http://example.com/?123. If its really due to cache, then it will get cleared as it will consider above as new URL.

    Please let me know how it goes.

    Hi saynshare. I am still unable to get any header image to change on any themes. It shows the same image all the time. I have tried to append the url without success. I have even cleared browser cache, cleared system cache, and even tried two other browsers. I don’t know what else I might be able to try, so perhaps it’s on the server end? I am open to suggestions. Thank you!
