Trying to change my official username

  Hi there – So I originally created my WP account with my name with not much thought as to what I’d actually blog about. Now I’ve found a legit idea that I want to go with so I’ve created my blog http://www.niubilicious.com — I’d like to change my official username to match my blog niubilicious so my Gravatar and Author links have …/niubilicious in the URL. When I try to via Settings, it says this username is already used. Could it be already in use by my blog? It asks if you want to create a matching blog with your updated username so perhaps it’s already taken from my blog??

  Sounds odd I know but I want to change the username if this possible… Any help is much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

  Hi. I think you’ll need staff’s assistance for this, because when anyone registers an address, the username equivalent becomes “reserved” (or vice versa). Here’s the link to contact them:

  Blog names are the same as usernames for the most part. Usernames can be turned into blog names, but blog names cannot be turned into usernames. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/cant-change-username-because-i-use-same-display-name?replies=5#post-694997
