Trying to change my URL

    I would like to change my URL because I was not committed to this domain name after thinking about the better blog name Galant Musings on Music. Any chance I could change ‘musichistoryandbeyond.wordpress.com’ into ‘galantmusingsonmusic.wordpress.com’? I would like to start this right without having to completely delete my account and paste all my details back in.

    You can simply change the address without losing your site content.

    Following up with you here as it looks like you haven’t changed your site address yet. Here’s the step by step instructions:

    1. Go to Upgrades → Domains. https://wordpress.com/domains/manage/

    2. Click the three dots to the right of the grey banner labelled “Your free WordPress.com address is” and select Change site address.

    3. Click the input field (with the first part of your current site address as a placeholder) and enter the new address you wish to use. We will let you know if the new address is available.

    4. If the new address is available, click Change Site Address.

    5. A screen with additional details and warnings will appear. Read the information carefully and make sure this is the action you wish to take.

    6. Check the box to confirm.

    7. Click Change Site Address.

    Once you’ve completed all of the steps above, your site will have a brand new WordPress.com address.
