Trying to change the welcome message

Hi! I’m trying to change the welcome message on my blog at http://shortbreaksandholidaysinscotland.com/. It’s on the Twenty Fourteen theme and currently displays a standard welcome message but I can’t figure out how to change it. Can you help?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

Do you mean the “Welcome to Scotland” text on the right side of the blog? You can change that under Appearance > Widgets in the blog’s dashboard. That text is in a Text Widget in the blog’s Content Sidebar area. You can click on the widget there to edit the text.

Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

    Hi Rachel,

No, not that text. I put that one in myself.

There’s text that reads Welcome to Your WordPress and it appears on the homepage. It sometime shows as just ‘Nothing Found. Ready to publish your first post..’ which is also odd because I’ve already published one!

Thanks for your help, I appreciate it!

Ah ok, now I see what you mean. :) Twenty Fourteen has a featured posts section at the top of the page where you’ll see three featured posts. In that space below (where it says “Nothing found”) is where any posts beyond the three featured ones.

Since your first post is being featured in that featured posts section, there aren’t any posts right now to fill that other space. That’s why the “Nothing found” message is showing up there. But as soon as you publish a non-featured post, you’ll see it replace the “Nothing found” message automatically.

Let me know if you have any other questions about that. :)
