Trying to Contact Website/Account Owner

  I am trying to contact the owner/account holder of a website hosted on wordpress.com. The website was set up several years ago for a local non-profit but the current board doesn’t know who set it up or have record of how to contact the owner. Any help would be appreciated.

  Wordpress.com can’t and doesn’t reveal information about the owner of a site. You’ll have to figger out how to contact the owner of that site yourself

  No chance I could get WordPress to ask the site owner to contact me?

  We won’t contact site owners in that way nor will we provide contact information of the site owner for privacy reasons.

  If you have the transaction IDs from charges on this account, you can use the Account Recovery form to prove ownership of the site, then WordPress.com support can help you from there. You can find that form here:

  https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

  Just fill out as much information as you have including an email address where Support can get in touch. The transaction ID will be on your bank statement as WordPress followed by a letter/number code. They’ll look like this:

  WordPress XXXXXXXXXX
