Trying to create a URL

  Hello,
  I signed up for wordpress and all went well but when I try to create a BLOG and create a new URL it’s not letting me. I have the choice between wordpress.com, .com, .org (ext…). When I try to create a new blog address using wordpress.com ( the free host) the “checking Wheel” spins and does not do anything. I tested the other paid ones .com and .org and there was instantly a green check. I just want the free one because I will be transfering my blogger site and domain name over. Please help! I’ve been trying to figure this out for 3 days?
  I want to use babydashphotography.wordpress.com
  I am using a MAC OSX 10.6.8 Version 5

  Then two things to do –

  First create a blog name you like with WordPress.COM in it (your-name.wordpress.com) – since you are going to use domain mapping the blog name is not very important as it will be hidden by your custom domain name.

  Then you map your existing domain name to your blog here (probably do that after you transfer the content to your new blog here)

  Normally a blog is reserved for your account name but your old account name that matches your name was suspended for a Terms of Service violation you will need to find a new name – I will put the TOS below to help keep you from getting suspended again – you should review it before you make the move to WordPress.COM

  If the wheel spins and spins and never resolves, generally that means the name is already taken.
