trying to create my second page

    I am a teacher and use WordPress to create websites for my classes. I already have one for my French classes : daccordpoudre.wordpress.com. I am now creating a new one for my AP Art History class : phsapah.wordpress.com. My frustration is that the way I create a drop-down menu of pages from the main header of pages on my French page is NOT WORKING on my APAH page. I am using the Kelly format for both, so I don’t know why it’s not the same process.

    It’s hard to tell what’s going on at first glance.

    Have you assigned parents to your child pages? Have you tried adding the subpages to the menu by going to phsapah.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ and then going into Appearance > Menus and adding/dragging the pages into place? Have the pages been added to your menu but they are just not showing up in the dropdown?

    It might help us troubleshoot if you can tell us 1) what your usual method of creating a menu is and 2) what *is* happening on the second site when you try to create the menu.

    My usual method is :
    -click on PAGES
    -click on ADD NEW
    -under PAGE ATTRIBUTES, I choose a page that is one of my main pages under the banner-type thing

    It creates the page, seemingly (as in, it’s saved and not deleted), but when I go to my main page and hover over the parent page I attributed the new page to, nothing shows up.

    On the first WordPress site I created (for my French class), it’s super easy! I follow the exact same steps (using the Kelly format), and the new pages just show right up!

    I’m not sure how or why your first site added subpages automatically. I’ve spent a while just now trying to get my test site to do that but haven’t been able to.

    Here’s how I’ve always done it:
    Follow the steps you list to add a new page & assign the parent.
    Once I’ve added some pages, go to Appearance > Menus in /wp-admin/.
    Click the boxes next to the subpages that need to get added & click “add to menu”, then drag them so they are indented under their parent item. Save.
