Trying to decide on upgrade

Been writing all my life, time to start a blog and have a site where folks can go hang out, but I’m also opening a small b and b, where I’ll be able to cultivate some followers and hopefully friends of followers. So I’m not anticipating a stampede, but I also don’t know which way would be the smartest sort of online businesscard. Ideas?

If you want to use a custom domain, one that ends in .blog or .com for example, you’ll need to upgrade your plan from the basic free level.
That said, you can have a fully functioning website for absolutely free with your current .wordpress.com site address.
