trying to delete account

I am now in a crisis.
I need to delete my account in order to move on.
Every time, I try to delete, it tells me I have active subscriptions. I don’t. I have signed in and out. I have tried and re-tried. I am quite shocked that something so basic could be so impossible. Please help me!!!!
I needed to do this three days ago and I am stuck and I have assignments to move forward with!!!

Sometimes cancelled subscriptions take time to fully process

Log into your account
Select Account or Billing
Explain you need to delete your account urgently for school assignments
Before deleting, check:
Go to: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases
See if any subscriptions are listed as “Active”
Cancel any active subscriptions first
Important: Once you delete your account, all your sites and data will be permanently removed. Make sure to export any content you need first.
The staff will be able to check your account status and help you proceed with deletion quickly. -
