Trying to delete an old blog

I started a blog several years ago and have since abandoned it. The blog now comes up in google searches of my name, and I would really like to delete it. I cannot remember which username I used to start it, though. If you can provide me the username, I can recover the password, I’m pretty sure.

You’re right. In order to access any blog you must be logged in under the username account and associated email address that registered the blog. You will have to use the account recovery form https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

After you recover access to the blog you can log in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog to delete the blog. http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/ Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.
