Trying to embed a video on blog

I am trying to embed a video on my blog. I posted it on YouTube and have the code. I copy and paste the code onto the Text page. No video shows up when I preview. I have “unlinked” the hyperlink. I have tried it 5 times now and nothing works.Here is the link from YouTube. http://youtu.be/ZuKwdcNToWw What am I doing wrong?

Ok….I just figured it out: I had the privacy settings to only me. Just changed to Public and it works!!

You’re not following the instructions on how to embed videos in WordPress.com. Don’t use the embed code. Use the shortcode.

so…where do I find the short code on the you tube page for my video?

Well, does it show when you Publish it?
You get the URL I used from the browser bar, not the Share box.

Question: is uploading/embedding any easier or more straightforward with Vimeo or Picasa? Trying to avoid all the youtube ads…. -
No, it is more or less the same procedure. I don’t think Picasa vids are supported here at all but the ones that are are all listed in the Support docs http://support.wordpress.com/

I uploaded to Vimeo and like that format better so will stick with that. Just takes forever to process in their “basic” mode…
