  trying to enter info in the “about me” widget box. I believe I have a valid url (http://rharding0728.wordpress.com) but the box refuses to accept it. I have been at this simple task far too long already. Please tell me in plain English how to correct my entry. Thanks.

  Yes I was using that guide and am subscribed. I’m not ready to take my blog pubic at this time – I have too many problems getting it all together.
  (its my own lack of expertise, not wordpress’s fault.

  Thank you timethief. I read your post about privacy and will correct that right away. I’m looking at Jan 2015 for release dates because I have so much work to do and very few of friends have any idea what I’m talking about. But I will get it done. Thanks again.

  Hi Shawna. I keep getting a message in the widget block that this is not a valid user name and have tried different combinations of names and url but the message never goes away. Maybe I’m filling in the info incorrectly? User name is rharding0728 and URL is http://rharding0728.wordpress.com. I was able to publish about me yesterday but am not sure my blog attempt is coming together correctly. I really do need help.

  Thanks for the clarification! The About.me widget actually needs a URL from the website about.me. For example, my profile is:

  http://about.me/shawnajean

  If you’d like to use the About.me widget you’ll need to create an account with About.me. You may be interested in using the Gravatar widget instead though:

  Hi again Shawnaj. Checked out your blog and will follow so I get to learn a little more about this blogging business. Am very much trying to exercise my brain muscle – the mechanics of building my blog have tested my patience to the limit. I was born and raised in MA but fled the long,dreary winters 30 years ago for sunny FL. Still have a love and fondness for the Bay State however and could easily become a snow-bird.   I loved Massachusetts when I was out there. Its nice to be closer to family. Although, the winters here in Chicago are nothing to laugh at. Hopefully it isn’t as bad as last year. What I wouldn’t give to transplant some of that Florida warmth up here! :)
