Trying to export wordpress.com to wordpress.org self-hosted blog

  I have been following the steps to move my blog, tossedsaladlife.wordpress.com over to the self-house wordpress.org tossedsaladlife.com site. I am able to successfully export the media, categories, tags, but cannot export the posts or pages. The XML file ends up being about 300KB and contains no information on any of the posts. Do you know why this might be happening?
