Trying to follow blogs

  Hi, Long-time reader here. Recently when I have tried to sign up to follow new blogs I have discovered, I get the following response: ‘Your subscription did not succeed, please try again with a valid email address.’ I have had the same email address for almost 20 years. What’s going on?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  For which sites are you trying to subscribe, and what email address are you using? Type the email address on its own line, and it will be hidden from public view while staff can still see it.

  Are you logged into your WordPress.com account when you follow these sites? If so, you can just follow them using the WordPress.com follow button bottom-right on the screen, and then enable email notifications from the Reader at https://wordpress.com/following/manage

  You can also change your default subscription settings at https://wordpress.com/me/notifications/subscriptions/ to always subscribe via email. Then any new site you follow using the WordPress.com follow button will automatically have email notifications enabled as well.

  I have been using the usual little WordPress +Follow pop-up box in the bottom right corner of the blogs themselves. I have also tried searching for them on WP, with no luck. Perhaps this means the blogs are no longer active but have been left up?

  If you could share the addresses of the blogs, we could have a look.

  Please also, let us know the email address you’re using to follow them, as @kokkieh mentioned, just write it on its own line and it will be hidden from public view.
