Trying to follow the rules-pictures and ToS clarification

    Hi.

I was just wondering if someone could help clarify the Terms of Service for me, as I obviously don’t want to end up having my site deleted, and it’s better to be safe than sorry.

First, a bit of info- My site is an academic blog exploring the concept of childhood and children’s literature throughout history and in different cultures. I want to do a post about the cult of the child, and to do that I would like to put up some pictures of Alice Liddell and 18th century children- they were often sexualized and their poses were suggestive- but they were never nude. The sexualization was mostly in their poses and their facial expressions or their placement in the pictures. I’m not sure if it would be classified now though as child pornography, which is why I wanted to check first.

    Thank you.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi jennpower,

While we can’t definitively reply to a query like this without seeing the content itself, what you’re describing is likely okay, particularly in that context. However, since we do not pre-approve any content, if you’re ever unsure about whether or not you’re crossing the line with a photo, it’s best to not post it in the first place.

What Markel who is on pur ToS Staff had to say in this thread may be of interest. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/what-exactly-are-the-porn-standards?replies=9#post-840974
