Trying to get "email change" request approved … it's been 5 days!

    I had POP3 issues with my original yahoo email address.

    I set up new Gmail address and confirmed/verified it when I received notice from WordPress.

    on dashboard – it shows as “pending” and on the blog the old non-functioning yahoo email address still pops up.

    I previously submitted this request for help … if there is any thing I can do to get it approved and functional on my blog it would be greatly appreciated.

    Did you change the email address via both Users -> Personal Settings and Settings -> General in your blog’s Dashboard?

    thanks for your followup

    my recollection is that i did change the emails at both locations – from yahoo to gmail.

    when i thought it was automatic – i actually changed it and verified it several times on the same night – thinking somehow my computer was not sending the verification correctly.

    i’ve been afraid to do anything else since that night –

    so right now the General page – shows the correct gmail email with no notation.

    the Users page – shows the yahoo email – with a note superimposed noting that “there is a pending change to the new gmail address”

    if i should do something – try to re-energize the change process – please let me know; still not wanting to do the wrong thing.

    When you change the email address at Users -> Personal Settings, a verification email is sent to the new address.

    Check your spam folder, and if there’s nothing there, try changing it again.

    ok … I made the change to gmail … I verified when I received email at the gmail address … the personal settings now appears correct … almost there I hope … but – on my blog page (each page with my email contact address has already been updated to show gmail) when you click the gmail address – the popup shows yahoo.mail still.

    Is there another step to get popup to show the update to gmail?

    Sure … at the bottom of page 1 (and most other pages) there is an email address shown indented and in orange … When you click this address (gmail) – the popup that comes up shows “yahoo.mail”

    Ah, that’s a link that you added to your post. You changed the text, but not the email address it’s linked to.

    Just edit the post, switch to the HTML editor tab, and change the email address there.

    ok … I thought these were just “pages” … but I am now trying to add the gmail as a link … so far I can’t figure out how … I simply want to have an gmail contact address … so sounds easy – sorry to be slow at this.

    Yes, just need to edit the page and change what you linked the email address to.

    You can do this easily via the HTML editor tab.
