Trying to get jetpack widget on my blog

  • Unknown's avatar

I want to create a subscription link so people can receive each one of my new posts in an email. I’ve been researching this, and it looks like I need to use jetpack. However, when I go to install the widget “Blog subscriptions (Jetpack)”, I don’t see the widget.

I’m using Chateau theme. Is this widget available? If not, how can people subscribe and get emails?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. Jetpack is a plugin for self-hosted WordPress sites to get some wordpress.com features. Since your site is on wordpress.com, you don’t use Jetpack, you use the built in feature for subscriptions (it’s the same thing), the Follow Blog widget. Here are directions: http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/follow-blog-widget/

Thank you! On the sidebar, is there any way to let people who aren’t logged in to WordPress know that they should look to the bottom right for the follow button? I can see people missing it there…like I did!

I would suggest that you just drag the Subscriptions/Follow widget to the top of the sidebar, where it will be easily seen.

I’m not sure how to do this–what screen should I go to? On all the places I check, I don’t see the Follow button. Even when I log into my site directly, instead of through the dashboard, I don’t see it.

I only know it exists because I opened my blog on my husband’s computer and saw the Follow button there.

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

You can add the Follow Blog widget by going to Appearance > Widgets in your dashboard. In the list of Available Widgets, look for Follow Blog — you can drag that widget to your Sidebar Widget Area to enable it on your blog.

Please let me know if I can provide any further help with this. :)
