Trying to get my domain back

Hi, I have a new site with Wix, which is connected to my old WordPress domain – the domain seems to have expired and I really need to get it back and have it going through my Wix subscription. They said I should contact WordPress as it’s in the Redemption period. The domain is clarevooght.com. I wasn’t aware this would happen (Wix told me the domain would transfer to them seamlessly) and really desperately need to get my professional site back up and running – please help!

Your domain clarevooght.com expired on May 4. We sent several email warnings both before and shortly after it expired.

The good news is that we are still able to recover your domain, as it is currently in the Redemption period: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-expiration/#redemption-period
A late renewal fee of $80 will be added to the regular price of renewal. This fee is charged by our domain partner and is not one which we can waive. That’s in addition to your annual domain renewal from us, so the total is going to be $98.
I have sent a payment request for the total of $98 to the email address on your account. Once the payment is sent, please reply here to let us know, and we will send a note to our domain partner regarding clarevooght.com. This process only takes about 2-3 days start to finish.

Hello,
I’ve made the payment – please let me know if it will connect back to my Wix site once the domain is reinstated or if I’ll need to go through the process to connect my domain again?
I did receive those emails but from a few previous conversations with providers I was under the impression that my domain had already been transferred to Wix. Unfortunately it turned out that wasn’t the case. Hope we can get this sorted as swiftly as possible now though!

Hi Clare,
Thanks for your payment. I’ve emailed our domain provider to restore your domain. This process can take up to 48 hours, but hopefully we hear back from them sooner. We’ll let you know as soon as we do.
In most cases the domain should start showing your Wix site again the moment it’s restored.
Once it’s restored, you can follow the process at the link below to transfer your registration to Wix if you prefer. You won’t lose the current renewal you’ve just paid for with us when you do that.

Hi Clare,
I’m happy to report your domain has been redeemed. Because it’s technically a new renewal due to the redemption, there is a 60-day transfer lock to transfer it out to Wix.
I see it is pointed to them already, however it is showing a wix error page. You might just need to map your site on their side again. I found this guide on their help center to map the domain: https://support.wix.com/en/article/connecting-a-domain-to-the-wix-name-servers
I would recommend contacting Wix support again, now that the domain is redeemed.

Hi Clare,
A correction – domain renewals do not cause a domain to be locked, but it appears our domain provider have mistakenly locked your domain in this case. I’m following up with them to get that removed so you can transfer your domain.
Also, in this case it appears the domain had also been disconnected from Wix’s end while it was in redemption, so you’ll also need to reconnect it there before it will show your Wix site again.
